New Swimming Pools Vendor Laws
Amendments to the Conveyancing (Sale of Land) Regulation 2010 requiring a swimming pool certificate of compliance (or relevant occupation certificate and evidence of registration) must be attached to a contract of sale for a property with a swimming pool.
The Office of Local Government has advised that anecdotal evidence suggests the required certificate of compliance can take up to 4 months to obtain and 95% of pools are non-compliant at first inspection.
